From WirelessIQ Newsletter:
Airgo Networks Inc., pioneer and worldwide leader of Multiple Input
Multiple Output (MIMO) technology, the foundation for next generation
Wi-Fi, today announced its True G and True AG chipsets. With these
solutions Airgo creates a new category of high-performance products
that deliver MIMO benefits at mainstream mid-market pricing.
Airgo has also reduced the cost of its flagship True MIMO solution,
delivering proven industry leading performance while enabling customer
price reductions of 20 to 25 percent to the premium Wi-Fi market
segment.
With the introduction of these new MIMO chipsets, consumers have a
price versus performance choice in the Wi-Fi market. They can select
premium True MIMO solutions with the industry's highest speed, range
and reliability at a reduced price, or choose True G and True AG
solutions with dramatically improved performance and similar pricing as
compared to current 802.11g products.
"There are more than 60 independent published product reviews that
all clearly show the vastly superior wireless networking performance
offered by Airgo's Wi-Fi compatible MIMO technology," said Greg
Raleigh, president and CEO, Airgo Networks. "We now have created
reduced cost versions of our technology that make MIMO-enabled products
an even more compelling choice for the consumer."
Today, three major global retail Wi-Fi manufacturers, Belkin,
Buffalo and Linksys, offer flagship products based on Airgo's premium
True MIMO chipset technology, the ideal choice for consumers seeking
the world's highest performance wireless networking experience.
Products based on True G and True AG are expected on store shelves
within one month for cost-sensitive consumers who want performance far
superior to basic 802.11g or a/g solutions.
In an actual home comparing Airgo's latest True G solutions to
other mid-range "enhanced" Wi-Fi products, benchmark results show that
Airgo's True G consistently provides higher throughput and maintains
high speed connections in locations where the other products fail to
connect. In addition to delivering higher performance, retail pricing
anticipated from OEM customers who plan to launch Airgo's True G and
True AG solutions is expected to debut well below the price points
enabled by competing products. |
