Amended from The Wireless Weblog:
Although the European Union is having major difficulty ratifying a constitution, there could be just as much
confusion on the opening of 450-MHz radio spectrum for mobile broadband Internet. Witness Finland, who most likely will
be chosing CDMA (code division multiple access) technology that is being used for mobile phone networks in this country
and parts of Asia. If Finland goes through with it on CDMA, they will be aligned with Sweden and Norway, who both opted
for it last year.
At the same time, Austria, Ireland, Britain, and France will soon be awarding 450-MHz licenses, while Germany has
already awarded two licenses, but has yet to decide on the technology it will use. More info via CNN.
