We Make Money Not Art has the story of The Yellow Chair.
Sit on it. Get WiFi free.
It's iconic and practical. Like The Yellow Bike Project.
I still like my "Write Spot" idea. That would put hotspots inside giant yellow pencils.
Just paint an architectural drawing tube yellow and stick an access point inside. How much could that cost? Ten bucks? Of course you can't sit on it.
And bird houses. Different bird songs could indicate different types of content or situational awareness (weather, traffic, etc).
Maybe animatronics or historic mannequin figures would be fun. A $600 UMPC with a $49 USB backhaul could store local content and provide interactivity.
The Knockbox is a Wi-Fi appliance for realtors. Sellers can put a house tour on the access point. Anyone with a Wi-Fi device can see it. The Omisys DVD player has built in Wi-Fi. Store hundreds of tour clips safely inside, out of the elements. Or along bus routes.
Everybody's done cows. Electrify them.
How about WavyWand SMS messages on a Yellow Bike?
