Amended from Broadband Reports: EV-DO (for now) has won the wireless broadband standards war; the 300-500kbps (almost 100kbps upstream) service is the preferred flavor for both Verizon and Sprint. The price ($80, usually) still targets business professionals on the go, but it should drop over the next few years, with a revision update expected to increase speeds to 3Mbps/1.8Mbps (burst max). Verizon tells Newsfactor the response to their Broadband Access service has been positive, something our Cellphone forum users generally agree with.
