Amended from WiMAX Networking News: Apparently the 802.16 and 802.22 groups both have their sights on the 900 MHz band in the U.S.: The 802.22 group was founded to create regional area networks using unused TV channels. But the 802.16 camp believes that its mission is also to support a technology for wide area networks and it would also like to use the 900 MHz band. Both groups seem to be vying for the band or at least hoping to ensure that they can coexist.
