There's been continued speculation about the impeding success (or not?)
of WiMAX. Many think this new technology will change the way many
access the 'Net; others think it'll be another typical broadband
connection.
BroadbandReports provides an interesting lead between two article leads of opposing nature:
"Responding to the same InStat study, the Enquirer leads with "Wimax Likely to Have Limited Success", while Mobile Pipeline
runs the headline "WiMAX Could Alter Telecom Industry." Both are
responding to new predictions that the oft-hyped wireless broadband
technology will likely only grab three percent of total broadband customers world-wide by 2009 - if all goes well. That's a far cry from the Wimax hype of 2004; many proclaimed it would quickly become a competitor for DSL and cable."
