Searchers in Oregon have reportedly located the body of James Kim, missing since Saturday when he left to find help for his stranded family.

James Kim was last seen leaving his family in a car that became stuck in a rugged area of southwest Oregon. The family, returning to their San Francisco home, was rescued Monday after having disappeared during Thanksgiving weekend.

The pants, which authorities said match a description of the pants worn by Kim, were found on a steep slope in an area surrounded by footprints, the Salem (Ore.) News said.

Searchers focused on an area about 30 miles west of Grants Pass, Ore., focusing on a canyon about 5 miles from where the car was found, the Josephine County, Ore., Sheriff’s Office told the News. Technical search crews and specially equipped helicopters are assisting in the ground search.

Meanwhile Kati Kim and her daughters left an area hospital Tuesday, authorities said, and were staying at an undisclosed location. In a statement, the family expressed their deepest, heartfelt gratitude for the tremendous outpouring of love, concern, and assistance.
