802.16 News

Alvarion, Airspan and Redline, today announced the initiation of the industry's first stage of private interoperability testing of IEEE 802.16-2004 systems, upon which WiMAX is based.

The three companies initiated the first phase of Base Station and CPE testing using Alvarion's BreezeMAX platform, Airspan's AS.MAX product line, and Redline's AN-100U line of carrier-class Base Stations. The testing is designed to support the official WiMAX Forum certification process, which is scheduled to begin in July 2005.
