While DirecTV and Echostar made a splash on the first day of the FCC's AWS spectrum auction, Sky Report notes that they've since fallen off the auction radar, dropping out of the list of the top ten bidders. The two satellite providers teamed up under the name Wireless DBS, because they have plans to possibly create a national wireless broadband provider.
